3 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari in Bwindi NP Fly-in
Skip the long drive with a one-hour flight each way.
Stone-and-thatch cottages on a ridge above Buhoma, looking straight into the forest where the gorilla treks start.
Gorilla Heights Lodge sits on a hill above Buhoma, in the north of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From the terrace you look across the valley into the forest where the Buhoma gorilla families live, and in the evening you hear the forest settle as the mist comes down.
It is one of the lodges we book most for guests with a Buhoma permit. The briefing point is a short drive away, so there is no very early departure on trek day, and you come back to a hot shower, a fire and a proper dinner.
About 8–10 hours by road from Entebbe or Kampala, or a 1.5-hour flight to Kihihi (north) or Kisoro (south) airstrip. Read our Bwindi Impenetrable guide for what to do there.
